What a wonderful day for sailing! The wind was strong and steady, the waves were high and the sun was warm. At times the waves and wind concerned me, but I'm impressed with how well my little boat handles it all. Navigating under those conditions is tough, as handling the rudder and holding the sheet while selecting waypoints on the GPS is no small feat.
I fell quite short of my goal to make landfall on Salt Island, but that just leaves me with a goal for next time. :) I ended up turning back, because heading into the wind and against the tide made for an arduous journey. Perhaps if I had some company I would have a greater appetite for these long trips.
Why do my boys always drop off the crew roster at the last minute??
